CME Group announced on Friday that its micro Bitcoin futures have sold more than 1 million contracts.

Tim McCourt, head of global equity indices and alternative investment products at CME Group, said since the product launched more than a month ago, they continue to see strong customer demand.

The price of micro Bitcoin futures is one-tenth of a Bitcoin, aiming to provide market participants (from institutions to small traders) with another tool to hedge the price risk of spot Bitcoin in an efficient and low-cost way.
