China Launched 3 Million Digital RMB Reward Exchange Pilot Activity In Xiong'an New Area

On July 1, China's Xiong'an New Area launched a digital RMB reward exchange pilot program. 

The event was co-sponsored by the Xiong'an New Area Management Committee and the Shijiazhuang Central Branch of the People’s Bank of China. The digital RMB red envelopes with a total value of 3 million yuan will be distributed to the local people. 

The red envelopes are redeemed through step-counting points for users of the Xionganhang APP. The amount of each digital RMB red envelope is 50 yuan, and each user can redeem it up to 4 times. The red envelopes issued can be consumed at designated merchants.
