According to a report from local media "The Star", the Malaysian Police Department seized 1,069 mining machines for illegally mining Bitcoin, and 8 people were arrested. 

The police claimed that the miners had stolen up to 8.4 million ringgit (about $1.9 million) worth of electricity from the energy development company Sarawak Energy Berhad. 

A video streaming out showed that all the seized mining machines were destroyed by the police.
