According to an exclusive report from Daily Mail, Mark Eglinton, a biographer revealed that the software tycoon John McAfee, who died last month, was penniless at the time of his death.
The main reason is that he invested a large amount of real estate but the capital chain had problems. For example, in 2007, when real estate collapsed in the recession, McAfee's $25 million mansion in Colorado was sold at auction for only $5.72 million.
Eglinton will publish McAfee's biography "No Domain: The John McAfee Tapes" in December of this year. The author said that McAfee cannot even pay the fees required by the biography. Eglinton added that the amount required to produce a biography was "not large," and McAfee told the biographer: "My financial situation is worse than yours."
