Celo, an open-source blockchain ecosystem, announced that its digital wallet Valora has completed the $20 million Series A round led by Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) and will operate as an independent company.

Jackie Bona, head of consumer growth at cLabs, Inc. will serve as the CEO of Valora, investors such as Polychain Capital, SV Angel, Nima Capital, NFX, and Valor Capital participated in the A round. 

Valora, which launched in February 2021, allows users to save, send and use cryptocurrency as easily as text. Today, Valora has over 53,000 monthly active users in more than 100 countries/regions. The new funds will be used to further develop its user-friendly products and crypto educational content, as well as attract more people to enter the cryptocurrency space.
