Rob Portman (R-Ohio), the Republican chief negotiator of the US Infrastructure Act, said he supports the crypto tax amendment, which will narrow the definition of crypto brokers and reduce the tax reporting requirements of the crypto industry.

He pointed out in his tweet: "I agree with Senators Wyden, Toomey, Lummis that we can do more to clarify the intent of the cryptocurrency provision & the Senate should vote on their amendment." 

It is not clear when the Senate will vote on the amendment. However, according to Politico, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) hopes to complete all amendments by Thursday and vote on the actual bill by Saturday.
