According to Coindesk, U.S. Representative Anna Eshoo asks House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to amend the crypto tax clause of the Infrastructure Bill in a letter on Thursday.

Eshoo supported the compromise amendments made by Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) and Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.). She wrote that the definition of the term "broker" for reporting purposes is too broad and may be difficult for certain entities to comply with, added: "When the House takes up the Senate bill, I encourage you to amend the problematic broker definition in Section 80603 of the legislation."

Eshoo was described by Politico as "Pelosi's closest friend in Congress" in 2014.
