Cryptocurrency developer Jay Graber announced that she will join Bluesky, a decentralized social media project initiated by Twitter, as the leader.

Graber is a former software engineer of Zcash and Skuchain and the founder of social activity startup Happening.

Graber said the next step is to build the Bluesky team. Twitter co-founder and CEO Jack Dorsey commented that this marks another step towards decentralized Twitter and social media.

According to Dorsey, Twitter has been funding a small group of developers to build Bluesky since the end of 2019. The project's slogan said: "re-building the social web by connecting disconnected silos and returning control of the social experience to users."
