Eric Balchunas, Bloomberg senior ETF analyst tweeted a screenshot of a regulation document, showing that VanEck and ProShares have withdrew their proposal a few days after filing the Ethereum futures ETF application.

Balchunas guesses that VanEck and ProShares may have a "godfather-like" conference call with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), during which the SEC rejected Ethereum-related products.

The analyst also believes that the SEC has killed the two Ethereum ETF proposals in the bud, which may be good news for the approval rate of the Bitcoin ETF, because it shows that the SEC is more willing to take a step-by-step approach to the largest cryptocurrency Bitcoin.
