According to a report from Bloomberg on Friday, Canadian investment company Accelerate Financial Technologies promised that for every 1 million Canadian dollars (approximately $792k) invested in its Bitcoin (BTC) exchange-traded fund (ETF), the company will plant 3,450 trees.

This move is part of Accelerate's goal to enable its Bitcoin ETF to achieve negative carbon emissions. The company claims that each major investment will offset 1,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

The investment company filed a Bitcoin ETF application to the Canadian securities regulator in February. Accelerate plans to list the product on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the stock code ABTC, which can be traded in U.S. dollars and Canadian dollars.
