Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador announced that the country has bought 150 BTC on dips. El Salvador now holds 550 BTC in addition to the 400 BTC previously purchased. 

Besides, the Lightning Network company OpenNode announced that it is powering fast-food giant McDonald’s crypto integration in El Salvador. All McDonald's restaurants in El Salvador can use the Lightning Network to accept Bitcoin payments now.

El Salvador's groundbreaking Bitcoin law came into effect earlier today. The crypto market has not been boosted by this. Data from the Bitpush terminal shows that the price of Bitcoin has fallen sharply in hours from a high of nearly $53K to a low of $46K, a 24-hour decline of nearly 9%.
