Thomas Peterffy, a billionaire in the financial industry and founder of Interactive Brokers Group, told CNBC that his portfolio has held Bitcoin for three years.

In an interview in July, Peterffy said that Bitcoin has a small probability of becoming a dominant currency, so it is necessary to seize the opportunity in advance.

Recently, Interactive Brokers has launched a cryptocurrency trading service with the help of Paxos. Customers can trade and custody Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) through Paxos Trust.

As of the first quarter of 2021, Interactive Brokers has approximately 1.33 million customer accounts and $330.6 billion in customer assets. According to Forbes, Peterffy's net worth in 2021 is $19.2 billion.
