Core Scientific, a blockchain infrastructure provider, announced that it will work with Denton, Texas, and a subsidiary of Tenaska Energy, Inc. to build a 300 MW blockchain data center that will use zero-carbon emission electricity.

Upon completion, this data center will increase Core's total power capacity to over 800 megawatts while maintaining 100% net carbon neutrality.

Core Scientific is one of the largest blockchain infrastructure providers in North America, owns and operates data centers in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Georgia, and a new data center in North Dakota is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2021. Core also plans to go public with Power & Digital Infrastructure Acquisition Corp through a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).
