The social media giant Facebook has begun to launch a small pilot project of Novi digital wallet in the United States and Guatemala, where people can send and receive funds instantly, securely, and for free, according to Diem's co-founder and board member David Marcus.
Marcus said that the team is testing core functions and operational capabilities in terms of customer service and compliance, and hopes that the trial will demonstrate a new stablecoin use case (as a payment tool).
Marcus also pointed out that they are corporate with Paxos and Coinbase in the pilot project. The team’s support for Diem has not changed and plans to launch Novi with Diem after it has been approved by the regulatory authorities.
