Mark Mobius, an emerging market investment guru and founder of Mobius Capital Partners, stated in an interview with CNBC that cryptocurrency cannot be regarded as a viable investment and likened it to "religion."

He said: "This is not investment, but religion. People believe in it; people think they are getting richer and richer."

Mobius advises crypto players must eventually return to the stock market: "Stocks definitely are the answer because the devaluation of currency is not going to go away, which means inflation is going to continue at a high rate going forward."

Mobius has been a cryptocurrency skeptic for many years. In the past July, after Bitcoin briefly fell below $30K, Mobius asserted that it would fall even lower.
