According to Reuters, Kazakhstan has become the second largest crypto mining area after the United States. Kazakhstan is considering taxing cryptocurrency miners that have been officially registered before the end of this year and imposes restrictions on unregistered cryptocurrency miners. According to the Ministry of Energy, the total amount of electricity consumed by all unregistered and officially registered miners accounts for about 8% of Kazakhstan's total electricity generation. Underground miners may consume twice as much electricity as officially registered miners.
