According to an exclusive report from CNN, Major League Baseball (MLB) superstar Shohei Ohtani will join the cryptocurrency exchange FTX as its newest brand ambassador. 

Ohtani's sponsorship compensation will all be paid in cryptocurrency and FTX equity. The specific amount was not disclosed. 

Last season, Ohtani became the first player in MLB history to be selected as an All-Star at the same time as a pitcher and a batsman. On September 15th, the 27-year-old was selected as one of 100 most influential people of 2021 by the Time Magazine. 

FTX has been heavily marketing. Its big-name endorsers include legendary NFL quarterback Tom Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen, NBA Golden State Warriors Curry, etc. FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried said before: "We are really excited about the progress our business has made, but we are also very late to the game. We have a lot of catch-ups to do in terms of our branding."
