ConsenSys Raises $200M At A Valuation Of $3.2B, Flagship Product MetaMask Hits 21 Million Monthly Active Users

The Ethereum software incubator ConsenSys announced on Wednesday that it has completed a $200 million financing at a valuation of $3.2 billion, it's just six months after the company raises $65 million from JPMorgan Chase and MasterCard.

Participated VCs include Marshall Wace, Third Point, ParaFi Capital, Think Investments, IOSG Ventures, Dragonfly Capital, Electric Capital, Spartan Group, DeFiance Capital, Animoca Brands, Coinbase Ventures, and HSBC. 

The mission of ConsenSys is to unleash the collaborative capabilities of the community by making Web3 universally easy to use, access, and build. 

Its flagship products include wallet MetaMask and Ethereum developer tool Infura. ConsenSys announced that MetaMask has grown 36 times last year and currently has more than 21 million monthly active users, while Infura is used by 350,000 developers, including MetaMask and leading DeFi and NFT platforms. 

The new funds will go forward to expand the team and support the rapid expansion of MetaMask and Infura products. 

ConsenSys CEO Joe Lubin said that in the coming year, the software branch of ConsenSys plans to expand a new department, focusing on NFT, and potential game and other content software development tools.
