Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, the founder and CEO of cryptocurrency trading exchange Binance, said in an interview with the Associated Press on Wednesday that he plans to donate up to 99% of his personal wealth.

He said: "Personally, I’m financially free. I don’t need a lot of money, and I can maintain my lifestyle in this way. I do intend to give away most of my wealth, like many wealthy entrepreneurs or founders did from Rockefeller until today. I do intend to give away 90, 95, or 99% of my wealth."

Zhao also stated that he did not make much personal investment. Except for buying some BTC in 2014, most of his personal net assets are BNB (Binance Coin) and he does not hold any other tokens.

CZ also declared that he does not own any equity in other crypto or non-crypto projects to avoid potential conflicts of interest. According to Forbes, as of August 10, 2021, Changpeng Zhao's personal net worth was $1.9 billion.
