During an interview with Axios, Phil Spencer, the current executive vice-president of Gaming at Microsoft and the head of the Xbox brand, said that he is cautious about the prospects of NFT games, while some projects are "exploitative" because many of them involve players being able to buy and sell in-game objects.

He said: "What I'd say today on NFT, all up, is I think there's a lot of speculation and experimentation that's happening, and that some of the creative that I see today feels more exploitive than about entertainment."

NFT is exploring and developing, and Spencer did not completely deny this field, he added: "I don't think it necessitates that every NFT game is exploitive. I just think we're kind of in that journey of people figuring it out."

Phil Spencer’s views play a pivotal role in the gaming industry. Data tracked by Statcounter shows that Xbox is the world's second-largest gaming console operating system after PlayStation.
