As NFT has become the headlines of major media in the past year, the British Collins Dictionary announced that NFT is named Collins Word of The Year 2021.

In addition, "metaverse", "crypto" are also included in the Word of The Year list. Other words on the list include climate anxiety, double-vaxxed, etc.

The article mentioned that the digital revolution continues to develop rapidly, changing the culture, relationships, and way of doing business. The dominance of traditional currency forms is being challenged by crypto technology.

As to NFT, The blog post stated: "This convergence of money and the internet leads us to 2021’s word of the year: NFT.
