Celsius Network May Have Suffered A $50 Million Loss In BadgerDAO DeFi Hack

According to a report from The Block, Alex Mashinsky, CEO of crypto lending company Celsius Network, confirmed in a live broadcast that the company suffered a financial loss in the BadgerDAO hack earlier this week. 

Mashinksy said: “We are working with Badger to recover all those funds. We are collaborating with them on the investigation." 

BigTimeCali, a Twitter account that tracks on-chain data, analyzed that Celsius Network may have lost approximately $50 million due to the vulnerability. 

Early this week, an attacker used malicious contract permissions to withdraw funds from the wallets of dozens of users of the Badger DAO vault protocol. This is a front-end attack that the hacker managed to control the main website, about 2,100 BTC and 151 ETH were stolen with a worth of $120 million.
