Data compiled by CB Insights shows that as of December 2021, there are more than 936 unicorn companies worldwide, of which 35 unicorn startups are valued at more than $10 billion.

Unicorns refer to private companies that are valued at more than $1 billion. China's Bytedance topped the list with a valuation of $140 billion, Elon Musk's SpaceX ranked second, and the cryptocurrency trading platform FTX ranked 12th with a valuation of $25 billion.

In addition, more than 70% of the 35 largest startups are located in the United States and China, financial technology and artificial intelligence are the areas with the most investment.
