Cryptocurrency Donations Given to Over 1,000 Nonprofit Organizations

According to a nonprofit cryptocurrency platform known as The Giving Block, this year, many people are choosing to give money by way of cryptocurrency donations to nonprofit organizations. These donations have gone above and beyond $100 million, in comparison to the year 2020, which amounted to around $4 million.
As opposed to last year, around ten times more nonprofits are choosing to gather donations via cryptocurrency. CEO of The Giving Block, Alex Wilson, has revealed that cryptocurrency is becoming increasingly popular, with over 1,000 nonprofits that take cryptocurrency donations.
“Next year, we have a lot of partnerships that are going live and we expect our growth to accelerate. We’re estimating that we’ll process nearly $1 billion in donations next year and work with over 6,000 nonprofits.”
Ethereum is the most popular form of donated cryptocurrency ($6.52 million), then followed by stable coin USDC ($4.38 million), and lastly, bitcoin ($2.79 million), according to the donation leaderboard that was provided by The Giving Block.
“Crypto Giving Tuesday” was the largest cryptocurrency fundraising day this year, which brought in around $2.4 million. According to The Giving Blocks’ website, this amount far exceeded 2020’s “Crypto Giving Tuesday” donations by around 583%.
On top of the $100 million that has already been donated, more is anticipated to be donated to the online Holiday Charity concert that will be hosted by the company at around 9 p.m. UTC. Individuals will be also be permitted to donate to other initiatives that are being run by The Giving Block, such as Crypto Adoption Fund, NFTuesday, Causes Week, and premium Private Client Services.
