According to data tracked by Whale Alert, a dormant address containing 500 BTC (now worth $23,733,648) was just activated after 10.5 years (worth only $8,425 in 2011).
Data on the chain shows that around 18:52 UTC on December 29th, 170.031 BTC (worth $8,119,302) was transferred by this address. The reasonable explanation is that someone may accidentally discover or eventually unlock a dormant crypto wallet. In November this year, a "sleeping whale" also activated the crypto wallet containing $150 million in BTC.
