Cash App, a mobile payment service developed by Block (formerly Square),  announced Tuesday that it will finish the integration with Bitcoin Lightning Network in the coming weeks, the integration is managed by a lightning development kit created by Block's Spiral.

Over the next few weeks, Cash App users in the U.S. can send their BTC from the Cash App to friends, family, self-custody wallets, or any merchant that accepts Lightning Network payments, with zero fees, the statement said.

Jack Dorsey, who just stepped down as CEO of Twitter and an investor in Bitcoin scaling solution Lightning Labs, revealed plans to integrate scaling technology with Cash App back in 2019.

Earlier this month, Block's job posting showed its intention to enter the Bitcoin mining space, with the aim of offering mining rigs that are cheaper, cleaner and easier to operate than current ones.
