The company is exploring issuing cryptocurrencies, allowing users to receive, view, buy, sell and exchange NFTs, and providing entertainment services based on the Metaverse experience, according to the document.
More and more traditional enterprises want to get involved in NFT, retail giant Walmart filed seven separate trademark applications with the Patent and Trademark Office at the end of December, hinting at the creation of its own cryptocurrency and NFT.
Blockbuster, which had more than 9,000 brick-and-mortar stores in its heyday, became a giant in the VHS rental market in the 1990s. However, it lost the competition with Netflix and declared bankruptcy on September 23, 2010. Blockbuster is currently a subsidiary of satellite TV company Dish Network, which recently announced a partnership with Cardano developer Input Output.
