According to the financial disclosures from the U.S. Senate, Ted Cruz,  the junior United States Senator for Texas, bought Bitcoin for $15,001 to $50,001 on January 25, when BTC was around $36,000 and $37,000. The transaction was done through the brokerage firm River.

At press time, Bitcoin has rallied around $41,200. Assuming Cruz didn't sell off, he would have made up to $5,680 on his investment.
