Cryptocurrency venture capital firm Castle Island Ventures has raised $250 million for its latest fund, Castle Island Ventures III, which includes endowments, asset managers and family offices, according to Bloomberg. 

This is the largest ever funding for the four-year-old company and will focus on investing in startups involved in building networks, financial services and internet infrastructure such as web3. 

Castle Island Ventures, co-founded by former Fidelity executives Nic Carter and Matthew Walsh focused exclusively on public blockchains, previously raised $30 million and $50 million in funding. The company's portfolio includes Bitwise, BlockFi, Casa, ErisX, Matrixport, MoonPay and River Financial.
