Ethereum application and infrastructure development company ConsenSys announced on Tuesday that it has closed a $450 million Series D funding round. The new funding more than doubles ConsenSys’ valuation to $7 billion from its $200 million financings prior to November 2021.

The round was led by ParaFi Capital, with new investors including Temasek, SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Microsoft, Anthos Capital, Sound Ventures and C Ventures, with participation from existing investors such as Third Point, Marshall Wace, TRUE Capital Management and UTA VC.

ConsenSys said its flagship MetaMask wallet has more than 30 million monthly active users, a 42 percent increase in four months. The new funding will support the rapid expansion of MetaMask, accelerate the global adoption of the Infura suite of development tools, hire over 600 new employees globally, and continue to reinvest in development and tools for the expanded Ethereum ecosystem.
