Aptos is aiming to build a scalable blockchain with faster transactions and lower fees than current blockchains like Ethereum or Solana. Aptos has officially launched its "devnet," which will allow developers to experiment and build on the Aptos blockchain ahead of a public release, which will be available in the third quarter.

The Aptos team said that a number of companies including Anchorage, Binance, Coinbase, Livepeer, Moonclave, Paxos, Paymagic, Rarible and Streaming Fast have partnered with the startup to provide feedback and contribute code on the devnet.
