Cryptocurrency exchange Binance has confirmed to the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) that it will no longer open accounts for new clients in Ontario, Canada, according to a public statement, promising to stop trading on existing Ontario accounts, offer fee waivers and reimbursements to certain users, and Binance undertakes to maintain these limits until further notice by OSC to Binance.

This marks the end of the regulatory pull between Binance and Ontario. In June 2021, Binance announced that it would be withdrawing its services from Ontario, notifying users to close their positions by December 31, 2021. However, by December 29 of that year, Binance notified local users that the exchange was allowed to continue operating in the region.
