Genesis Mining, one of the largest cloud mining companies in the world, made claims that former partner Digital Capital could never actually provide software with capabilities beyond “peripheral functionality,” according to a report from Law360 on Monday

The London-based payments company Digital Capital sued Genesis Mining on September 30, 2019, for failing to pay 2.4 million pounds (roughly $3.1 million) in unpaid invoices for its development and maintenance of its credit card software.

Genesis responded to the lawsuit by launching a counter-suit against the payments firm late-last year, looking to recover the money paid to Digital Capital for a platform that it ultimately failed to provide.

In defense, Digital Capital claimed that the project’s delays were caused by Genesis’ failure to provide the necessary technical documentation
