The largest food company, Nestle, announced a striking program to improve their supply chain tracking via Blockchain technology. The previous solution is ongoing with IBM Food Trust Blockchain but Nestle is going to build a independent new solution, which will be "feasibility, viability and scalability of the system". 

IBM Blockchain uses a QR barcode on a product that when scanned provides information such as date of harvest, location.
