A woman from the state of New York committed various acts of financial fraud to fund the terrorist organization ISIS.

According to a news release from the U.S. Department of Justice (DoJ), Zoobia Shahnaz has received a 13-year sentence for providing over $150,000 worth of material support to a foreign terrorist organization and attempting to travel to join ISIS

Shahnaz took out a $22,500 loan and fraudulently obtained over a dozen credit card numbers in order to buy $62,000 worth of bitcoin and various other cryptocurrencies. Shahnaz then sent multiple wire transfers totaling more than $150,000 to ISIS fronts in Pakistan, China and Turkey.
