The chief legal officer of Coinbase, Brian Brooks, is leaving the cryptocurrency exchange to take a senior role at the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

According to an announcement from the OCC on Monday, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has chosen Brooks as the new deputy effective April 1, 2020. Brooks served as the chief legal officer at Coinbase since September 2018.
