Two Canadian nationals, were sentenced to two years in a United States federal prison for using a Twitter-based scam to steal 23.2 Bitcoin (BTC).

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, on March 17, 23-year-old Karanjit Khatar and 24-year-old Jagroop Khatkar received a 24 month prison sentence and an additional three years of supervised release for money laundering and conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
