ANSA, Italy’s main news agency and an international publication owned by 24 national newspapers, is implementing blockchain as a way to combat fake news.

According to an announcement from ANSA on April 6, the news agency has released a new blockchain-based news tracking system to create more trust between the company and its readers. The tool, dubbed ANSAcheck, reportedly allows users to verify the origin and history of news published on its platforms, its affiliated publications as well as third parties such as social media or other platforms.
