Lamborghini Squadra Corse GT racing team Vincenzo Sospiri Racing announced they will use non-fungible tokens (NFTs) released on Go2NFT to certify and authenticate factory car parts, according to an announcement Tuesday.
The video said the benefits of this new release are it will create certificates of authenticity, safer products, reduce costs, guarantee utmost quality and create more trust in the brand. The company also said the authentication could be extended to merchandise and other official products.
“We are excited to pilot with Go2NFT and the renowned team at Skey Network to build NFT certification across our cars and other products to ensure we maintain the very highest standards of quality and control,” Vincenzo Sospiri said.
This is just the latest news in an overall collision course between the world of racing and crypto. In February of this year, Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing announced a $150 million partnership package with Bybit. In March, Crypto.com continued their sponsorship campaign by partnering with Aston Martin’s Formula 1 team.
In addition, Lamborghini themselves launched an NFT collection in January in collaboration with Swiss artist Fabian Oefner.
