World’s First Digital Art Wallet Launched by Bitmark After Raising $5.6M

Blockchain startup Bitmark is increasing their stake in the non-fungible token game, after raising $5.6 million for Autonomy, their new NFT wallet, the company said Wednesday. 

Autonomy is the world’s first and only digital art wallet, giving users an easy-to-use app to collect, view and discover new NFTs. Autonomy is a mobile app that currently works with Ethereum and Tezos with plans to expand to more blockchains. 

In some ways, it is like Instagram meeting an NFT marketplace. Users can buy NFTs on Ethereum or Tezos and Autonomy will automatically organize and showcase their NFTs in an Instagram-like format. Here is a picture from their website showing how the application works. 

The new wallet works alongside the company’s other product Feral File, which allows users to create virtual exhibitions of their collections. 

The release of Autonomy brings Bitmark one step closer from their “master plan” of first, bringing Autonomy to NFTs, second, extending Autonomy to Bitcoin and third, extending Autonomy again to personal data. 

“Our vision is to create a cryptographic standard to own and interact with digital assets and data, across any blockchain” co-founder and CEO of Bitmark Sean Moss-Pultz said on the company’s website. “This would finally achieve collaboration on the Internet without vulnerability.”

Galaxy Interactive and North Island Ventures led Bitmark’s funding round. Bitmark Protocol was launched in 2016 where it also raised $1.7 million led by Cherubic Ventures.
