Chipotle to Give Away $200,000 in Bitcoin with New Game “Buy the Dip”

Chipotle, an iconic build-your-own Mexican food, fast-food chain, announced they are giving away $200,000 in free crypto, according to a press release Monday. 

The $200,000 worth in crypto can be earned via a new interactive game Chipotle released called “Buy The Dip.” The new game that will run for a week, goes live today, July 25 at 10 a.m. PT and will run through Sunday, July 31. The game will be open from 10 a.m. PT to 6 p.m. PT daily, with the chance to win crypto and/or a 1¢ guacamole upgrade, which currently costs almost $2. 

If players win a prize, they have 15 seconds to claim the prize, or swap it for a chance to win a different prize. If players don’t win a prize, they can try again for another chance. All players have three chances to win per day until the event ends. 

This announcement comes less than two months after Chipotle started accepting cryptocurrency as a payment method. The 98 cryptocurrencies accepted include Bitcoin, Ether, Avalanche, Solana and Dogecoin to name a few. 

“We want to build the next generation of Chipotle fandom by connecting with the Web3 community," said Chris Brandt, Chief Marketing Officer. "We're excited to bring positivity to the crypto conversation by empowering fans to 'Buy The Dip.’” 

Chipotle first entered the digital world in 2021, when they became the first U.S. restaurant brand to launch a crypto giveaway. The giveaway titled “Burritos and Bitcoin” gave away $100,000 in Bitcoin on National Burrito Day, as a way to celebrate the “holiday.”
