Crypto exchange Coinbase halted all transactions in the U.S. Sunday morning. Customers were unable to make withdrawals, deposits, or buys on the platform during the period.
“We are currently unable to take to take payments or make withdrawals involving U.S. bank accounts,” said Coinbase in a statement at 7:57 a.m. ET Sunday morning. “Our team is aware of this issue and is working on getting everything back to normal as soon as possible.”
At 8:23 a.m. ET, the exchange said that they had identified the issue and were working on a solution.
Customers could still use debit cards or Paypal to buy crypto during the downtime, the exchange said.
