Argentinian energy company YPF said on Sunday that it was going to supply power to an undisclosed crypto mining company.

Pilot operations began three months ago in Vaca Muerta, an oil deposit site in southern Argentina.

The company plans to conduct a second pilot before the end of the year.

"We started to develop this generation pilot for cryptocurrency mining with a vision of sutainability and business from flare natural gas, which cannot be harnessed during exploration and at the beginning of the production of an oil field," said CEO of YPF Luz Martín Mandarano.
