SEC Rejects WisdomTree's Spot Bitcoin ETF Proposal

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has rejected WisdomTree’s application for a spot Bitcoin ETF, citing investor protection, according to newly released regulatory filings. 

This is the company's second attempt after revising its proposal last year when a similar application was rejected.

Spot Bitcoin ETF applications from other companies have also been rejected, including an application by Grayscale Investments to convert its Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) into a spot Bitcoin ETF.
