BNY Mellon CEO Robin Vince said in a conference call Monday crypto demand was the biggest reason for its crypto custody launch.

According to Vince, 75% of BNY’s clients are either investing or considering investing in digital assets and 90% expect to be tokenizing their assets within the next few years.

Vince believes full-scale adoption to crypto is just a matter of years or even decades away. However, he added that the bank is not pouring a ton of capital into it just yet.
