Paolo Ardoino, chief technology officer of stablecoin issuer Tether, said in the Plan B Forum in Lugano, Switzerland, that bitcoin adoption is going well in city.

According to Ardoino, 40 merchants in the city have already adopted bitcoin in their sales systems. Even though this isn’t much, Ardoino said he wants to do things in a “scientific way.”

Ardoino believes that rather than focusing on how many merchants have adopted bitcoin, it is more important to look at how successful their adoptions were.

Ardoino expects that 1,000 merchants will have adopted bitcoin by the first quarter of 2023.
