Google said Thursday that it is launching a cloud-based node engine for Ethereum projects.

The Google Cloud Blockchain Node Engine will be a “fully managed node-hosting service that can minimize the need for node operations,” the company said.

A node of a type of computer that runs a blockchain’s software to verify and store its transaction histories.

Google’s announcement is representative of a growing interest that tech companies have for blockchain, crypto and Web3 projects.

Earlier this month, Google formed a partnership with crypto exchange Coinbase to launch crypto payments on its cloud services, and in September, it partnered with BNB Chain to support early-stage Web3 startups.

In addition, the company announced in January that it was creating a Digital Assets Team for Google Cloud.
