Ripple, the distributed ledger firm, and its CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, have filed a lawsuit against video-sharing giant YouTube.

The Google subsidiary is being sued for its alleged inaction on the issue of fraudulent scams which were aimed at Garlinghouse and other business leaders. According to a report by Fortune's Jeff John Roberts.

The alleged scams involved hackers taking over channels of legitimate creators and replaced their videos with ones advertising Ripple-related scams. The videos often showed interviews with Garlinghouse taken from reputable sources, and overlaid with invitations to participate in "giveaways" of the cryptocurrency XRP.
