District Judge Ronnie Abrams withdrew herself from Sam Bankman-Fried’s case after it was revealed that the law firm her husband works at had previously advised FTX, according to reports by Cointelegraph.

In a Dec. 23 filing, Abrams revealed that her husband, Greg Andres, is a partner at Davis Polk & Wardwell, the law firm that had advised FTX in 2021. Additionally, Abrams noted that the law firm may take an opposing stance to FTX and SBF in legal proceedings.

Even though her husband had “no involvement in any of these representations,” Abrams said that she is rescuing herself from the case to avoid any possible conflict of interest.
