Major Brazilian bank Banco de Brasil announced that it is allowing taxpayers to pay taxes using cryptocurrencies. The move is part of a partnership with crypto firm Bitfy, who will act as a payments collector for the bank.

Brazilian city Rio de Janerio had already started accepting cryptocurrencies as a form of tax payment back in October 2022.

In December 2022, the government of Brazil passed laws that legalized the use of cryptocurrencies as a method of payment within the country.
